Fan engagement platform for college sports

Your fans show up every Saturday.
Do you know who they are?

Most athletic departments can’t name their fans. On Game Set Engage, every check-in comes from a signed-in fan with a verified email, in the building, at a partner venue or, if you turn it on, from home, and it builds a dashboard of who came, how often and what they took part in. Those are numbers you can take to your sponsors and your president.

The Problem

Better than Instagram and a spreadsheet.

Saturday football fills the stadium. Tuesday volleyball plays to 40 people. You run 15 to 25 sports, and most of them compete for attention with no marketing support at all. That gap between your biggest and smallest crowds is the gap between getting funded and fighting for it.

Instagram gives you follower counts and impressions. Neither means anything across the table from your president at budget time. What you need is attendance tied to actual, identified fans.

Game Set Engage fills that gap. Set up your program in about 15 minutes, build a campaign in 5, and walk away with data on who showed up, how often, and what they engaged with. Put that in your sponsor deck. Bring it to your next budget meeting.

Want the industry view before the product pitch? We collected the NCAA fan engagement initiatives that actually moved attendance, including the ones that need no software at all.

Campaign Scenarios

Campaigns that fill the week between games.

A student grabs a deal code at the campus coffee shop on Tuesday, answers a survey on Thursday, checks in at Friday’s volleyball game, and by Saturday has enough points to walk out with the football team. That’s how 500+ campaign scenarios fit together.

Homecoming Check-in Blitz

A check-in campaign for every event of the weekend: football, volleyball, the tailgate. Alumni, students and families check in through the app, and you walk away with an exact count per event and who came to more than one.

Student Section Leaderboard

A points race across every sport that keeps building all season. The department posts the standings from its dashboard, on the big screen or on social, and the top fans win courtside seats or a pizza party with the staff.

Rivalry Week Partner Deals

Five local partner venues, five venue offers for rivalry week, running Tuesday to Saturday only. Each confirmed redemption carries a fee you set, and your program keeps its share.

Memorabilia Auctions

Signed jerseys, game balls, lunch with the head coach. Fans bid with the points they earned all season from games and campaigns, never dollars. The prizes are your program’s call, so clear them with compliance first.

Fan Surveys, Any Day

Publish a short survey in the app on any day: up to three questions on game-day experience, concessions or merch interest. Fans earn points for finishing.

Alumni Watch Parties

For away games, alumni check in from wherever they’re watching. You set the values: more points at a partner venue and, if you enable home check-ins, fewer from the couch. Either way you finally have alumni engagement data, and your development office will want to see it.

New for rivalry week: score predictions where only correct calls earn points, open only to fans who joined an earlier check-in you pick, if you choose to gate it.

For NCAA, NAIA & JUCO programs

Fan outreach and community building between game days.

Most college fan outreach is a newsletter and a social calendar. What a fan engagement platform for college sports adds is a record of who actually took part, and a reason for them to come back.

Fan outreach by audience

Students, alumni and families show up for different reasons (here’s why segmenting them matters). Run a student-section check-in and an alumni watch-party campaign from the same account, then see who took part in which. On City plans and above, Fan Segments group fans by what they’ve done, such as three or more matchday check-ins, and you can send a push notification to just that group.

All year, win or lose

Community is a habit, and it slips in the weeks between home games, or in a season that isn’t going your way. A midweek quiz, an away-game watch party and a points race the department posts every Monday give fans a reason to stay involved regardless of the scoreline. Link one campaign to the next as a bonus campaign and a fan who checked in Sunday sees extra points on offer for coming back Tuesday. Every one of them lands on the same fan record, so you can see who turns up for everything and who only comes for homecoming.

Athlete-fan interaction, on your terms

Athletes don’t get accounts on Game Set Engage, and there are no NIL tools. Where athletes come in is the reward: a signed ball in a points auction, or a meet-and-greet for the fans at the top of your standings. Which prizes you offer is your program’s call, so clear them with your compliance office first.

Venue Partnerships · A New Revenue Line

NIL changed the budget. Your college town changes where the money comes from.

NIL and revenue sharing put new pressure on the athletic budget, and ticket sales alone won’t close the gap. Local businesses register free as partner venues and join your campaigns. Each confirmed partner-venue check-in and each confirmed offer redemption books a fee your program sets, Game Set Engage invoices the venues monthly, and you keep 70 to 90% of it depending on your plan.

It’s revenue that doesn’t come out of ticket sales, and fans earn points at partner venues too. There’s no distance limit, so the bar where an alumni chapter watches in another city can partner as well. For where venue fees sit in a wider revenue plan, read our guide to sports fan monetization strategies.

Campus Bookstore

Midweek merch deals

The bookstore offers 25% off on the weekdays it picks. Every confirmed redemption carries your fee and your program keeps its share. If you attach points to venue offers, fans bank points toward Saturday’s rewards as well.

Sports Bars & Restaurants

Watch-party HQ

Away-game watch parties at local bars. Fans check in at the partner venue, staff confirm them in person, and they earn the points you set. On City plans and above, Fan Segments show you which fans keep watching at partner venues.

Local Businesses

The whole town

The sandwich shop runs a weekly special on the days it chooses. As at the bookstore, each confirmed redemption books your fee, and your program keeps its share. Coffee shops, barbershops, pizza places: any business with a Google Maps listing can join.

How It Works

Set up your program in about 15 minutes.

01

Create your program

Sign up, name your program and add your logo. About 15 minutes. One account covers the whole athletic department.

02

Launch a campaign

Create an event for each game in any sport, then pick a campaign: check-ins, deal codes, surveys, auctions. Each one takes about 5 minutes to build.

03

Fans earn points all week

Fans use the free Game Set Engage app all week: a deal code on Monday, a survey on Wednesday, a check-in on Friday. By Saturday the points they’ve earned can go toward the game-day experiences you offer.

04

See the data

A real-time dashboard shows who showed up, how often, and what worked. That’s your sponsor deck. That’s your budget justification.

Built in Stadiums

10+ seasons. 3M+ fan interactions.

Game Set Engage wasn’t built in a conference room. The team behind it spent 10+ seasons running fan campaigns in stadiums, at venues and across fan communities before building this platform, with more than 3 million fan interactions along the way. The product itself has been public since June 2026; your program starts on that decade of experience on day one.

FAQ

Common questions about college athletics.

Check-in rewards for showing up, student-section traditions, prediction games and quizzes, fan surveys, away-game watch parties, and auctions for signed gear. In college sports the examples that last have two things in common: they happen the same way every time, and they’re tied to a named fan, so you can count who took part.

Reward being there and give fans something to do between games. Run one tradition the same way at every home game, add a midweek quiz or survey, and offer rewards money can’t buy, like a walk-out with the team. Then measure it by named participation rather than impressions, so you know whether it worked.

Your staff doesn’t manage it day to day. You create a campaign, publish it, and fans participate on their own through the mobile app. Results show up in your dashboard in real time, which makes it less like running a social account and more like setting up a vending machine. Build it once, and it works on its own.

About 15 minutes to create your program. Each campaign takes about 5 minutes. You can launch your first campaign the same day you sign up.

Free for up to 1,000 active fans, with every core feature included and no credit card. If you grow beyond that, the City plan is $199 per month for up to 10,000 fans. There are no per-campaign charges, and every plan is on the pricing page.

That’s where it makes the biggest difference. Non-revenue sports are the ones that struggle to prove attendance and justify budgets. Game Set Engage gives you check-in data for every sport, every event. When volleyball can show 200 fans checked in last Tuesday, the funding conversation changes.

Yes. One account covers your athletic department: create an event for each game in any sport and run a check-in campaign for each one, alongside surveys, deal codes and points auctions. It all feeds the same fan list and the same dashboard.

No. Game Set Engage is built around fans, so there are no athlete accounts and no NIL tools. Athletes can still be part of it through the rewards you choose, such as signed gear in a points auction or a meet-and-greet, as long as your compliance office clears them.

Game Set Engage doesn’t collect grades, student IDs or academic records. Fans sign themselves up in the app. Check any data questions with your compliance office.

Social media tells you how many people saw a post. Game Set Engage tells you who engaged all week and who showed up on game day. One is an impression; the other is a person with a name, a check-in history, and points earned across campus. You can put that in a sponsor deck. You can’t put Instagram reach in a budget request and expect anyone to take it seriously.

Yes. Invite your booster club’s lead as a team member to run points auctions for signed gear, surveys and deal-code partnerships with local businesses. Team members get dashboard access to campaigns, events, fans and analytics, while billing and team management stay with the account owner. Points auctions don’t raise money, since fans bid points. For the cash side, see our list of sports fundraising ideas.
